For those who don't know me, I am Mission Man. My lyrics are very personal, and I play all of my own instruments, including the bass, guitar, keyboard, and electric drums. I love making music, and I use it as a form of self-expression. I have grown tremendously as a person and a musician because of this. Outside of my family and best friends, music is the most important thing in my life.
Not sure what I'm saying in one of my songs? Get lyrics here (and stories where available, songs organized in alphabetical order).
Playing For a Cure was Saturday September 29th, 2007, at the Balcony in Oxford, OH! This year, we raised $147 for the American Cancer Society. That brings the 4 year total to $657! (year 1 was $0) Thank you to everyone for making the event a success, and for making the night a ton of fun! Video and pics coming soon!
Jul 8th - I just moved here last night. I love my new city, my new apartment, and my life. I had a fantastic time at the Tonic Room open mic tonight and I will be back next Monday, and every Monday thereafter for a while. One of the biggest reasons I made the move to Chicago is the music scene here. I can constantly perform, and that will help in so many ways.
Now working on "31 Hours Til What"
I'm now recording "31 Hours Til What." I'm taking a different approach for this album, and performing songs before they are done, so I can revise them after each live performance to give the album the best live feel possible. Each song could evolve until the album is finished (probably in the spring of 2009). The title comes from when I had 31 hours left of work at Papa John's, and was uncertain what the future would hold. I have moved to Chicago, have a new job, and still have no idea what the future will hold.
I was on Dave and Jimmy's morning show on Monday, October 22nd, 2007, performing Chillin' at the Papa live at 7:30 am. See video from it here or download it directly here. Thanks for having me in Dave and Jimmy! Hello also to Patrick, Kelsey, Gandhi, and Chachi!
One of the most common questions I get is "How do you make your music?" so I put up a full answer here.
16 DAYS IN A MINIVAN: There's video, pictures, detailed stories, applesauce and raisins, a hit and run, graffiti art, sleeping in a van, brushing my teeth at a rest area, overdrafting, car troubles, and much more. Enjoy!
