Independent/College Radio Stations

Hello to everyone in the independent music world trying to make music their living, in addition to their life.  I have put together this resource to help you accomplish that goal.  The basic information I have included here will be the genre of music the radio station plays, their phone number, and their website address if they have one.  If I get further information on a radio station down the line (such as number of listeners, how rotation works, how responsive they are to questions, etc.) from people like you who have used this resource and spoken to the radio station, then I will include it in a more detailed page on the station.  You will know when there is a more detailed page on the station when the name is linked because that is what it will be linked to.  If the name isn't linked, then I have no further information on the site.  Email me if you have any questions, additions, etc.  The list will be done state-by-state in alphabetical order, and then city-by-city in alphabetical order.  After that, I will arrange it in numerical order based on call numbers.  For example 89.7 FM will be before 97.5 FM, etc.  I hope the resource helps you, and good luck.  If you know of any errors or want to make an addition, please email me at missionman@missionman.net with the information.

My list is not the only list on the web.  Sometimes it will be more complete than other lists, sometimes it won't.  It depends on how many college radio stations change call number, address, phone number, website address, etc., as well as how up-to-date you help keep my information.  If you know of any misinformation on this page, or have info to add, please email me at missionman@missionman.net.   Thank you.  Here are some other sites to check out:

http://www.kathoderaymusic.com/radio/ - The most complete list of indie radio stations on the web I've found, but kind of difficult to use (not organized by city) and has no website links.  This list is completely indie/college radio stations

http://www.ilg.de/ilgwdusa.htm - This list has every radio station in the country with a web presence.  Some of the links are a little messed up, but it is where I got most of my information from.  That is, it's where I found the links to the radio stations, which is where I got the information from.   They are very organized and easy to use.

http://wmbr.mit.edu/stations/list.html - MIT's list of every radio station in the country.  The most complete list of radio stations period with or without web presences.  It's organized for someone who has a mind similar to an MIT student, though, so it's difficult to use.
