I had some applesauce and raisins.

Did the usual teeth brushing in the rest area, and left the rest stop at 1:30 pm. I also cleaned out my car a bit. The pictures are of a lake in Oxford, CT.
I decided to go to downtown New Haven again, and got a piece of A-1 pizza. It was ok at best. I took one picture of Yale in the day time, and decided to see a movie.

I called (800) FREE-411 to get the number to a theater in Hamden, CT. They gave me the number to some stereo store. He was nice enough to give me directions to the theater, but they were unclear, and I got lost. I called the theater, and the employees couldn't give me directions either, unless I was coming from I-91. I finally found it because I stopped at Burger King to get food, and they gave me really easy directions. I wanted to see Departed, but it was no longer playing. I was going to see Stranger Than Fiction, but because I got lost, I missed the start time by an hour, so I ended up seeing Borat. I expected it to suck, and it pretty much met my expectations. I'm certainly not a film critic, but my basic take is that there were funny moments, but most of it was stupid humor that I'd seen in dozens of other movies.

I pulled double duty on open mics. First, I went back to the Space, and met Ellen, a second year medical student at Yale. She seemed as normal as anyone else, and by that I mean she was cool, and didn't think she was better than other people just because she went to Yale. Thanks again to Carey for buying the first CD of the trip the previous week.
The other open mic was at the Red Door in Watertown, CT. I found out about the open mic at Cousin Larry's the night before. I almost drove right by it. This ended up being my best performance of the trip to date. After I finished "Glimpse of a Dream," I heard one guy say "Wow!" really loudly. Unfortunately, there were only 6 people in the bar. I also performed "Love with Passion and Live With Love" and "You've Earned It." After my set, I noticed there were 20 people outside. CT is a non-smoking state. I wasn't used to that since you could still smoke in bars in Ohio at that time. I was out of flyers, so I hand wrote "MissionMan.net" and "myspace.com/missionman" on notebook paper, and gave a slip to every one there. I really got a second wind from this performance, and I realized I can handle being on the raod for a very long period of time, so long as I have enough money. I drove most of the way to Philly afterwards because I felt so great. Bed around 4:30 am.
Special thanks to Brendan for the directions to Geno's cheesesteaks in Philly.
