"liberty island"
Released May 10th, 2011 |
"liberty island" is Mission Man's 10th album, and his best work. With musical influences ranging from Prince to a Tribe Called Quest, 80s pop and hip-hop, Mission Man shows that he can still be very personal in his lyrics and continue showing the passion he has always had for music while having fun with his songwriting and making mostly upbeat tracks. He shows his greatest range as an emcee, lyricist, songwriter and musician on this album, which is why he has taken the time to really present the material in the strongest way possible. All 11 songs from the album will have music videos. As of June 29th, 2011, 6 of them already do, and you can watch all 6 music videos on this website. Just click on the image for more info. |

![]() "31 Hours Til What?" - 2010 |
"31 Hours Til What?" was released in March 2010, a year after Mission Man moved back from Chicago. The album is very much about the uncertainty of life, and the title comes from a post Gary made about having 31 hours left at his job, but he didn't know what was going to happen afterwards. The album is very personal and is definitely on the experimental side. "Do What You Love" is the last song on the album. He ended the album with this song because he wanted the last words on the disc to be "Do What You Love." He now almost always ends his live performances with this song for similar reasons. |

![]() "Indiependent" - 2006 |
"Indiependent" is spelled "Indie" because it represents the life of an indie musician. As almost any independent musician will tell you, it's almost impossible to make a living from music, and just as many independent musicians will tell you that they still love it. Mission Man is no exception to this. He loves performing and making music. It guides his life and gives him purpose. He loves being indie! One of the many reasons is that being an independent musician means making real connections with many fans. Some become pretty good friends. Others make the shows amazing by bringing incredible energy. Some spread the word to all of their friends and a small concert for 25 people becomes a wonderful experience and a lasting memory. Mission Man's music career is defined heavily by those amazing fans and friends that music has given him. |

"Put Down The Pen" was released on January 19th, 2005, Gary's 26th birthday. After finishing Antis Trype, Mission Man
still had a lot of creative energy, so he made an entire freestyle album. No lyric, songtitle or idea was ever written
down. The music is heavily improvisational as well. The album was an mp3 only release and is not currently available.
"Antis Trype" was released in 2004 after Mission Man finished "A Different Kid." The most notable contribution of
"Antis Trype" is the fact that it was the first home for "Chillin' at the Papa," which Gary made for his manager at
the time as a Christmas present. The album was an mp3 only release and is currently unavailable, which is why "Chillin'
at the Papa" is now on "Reintroduction." The title is an abbreviation of sorts for Anti-Stereotype.
"A Different Kid" was released in 2004. When a coworker heard one of the songs Mission Man was working on for the
album, he said "Gary, you're a Different Kid." Mission Man certainly is just that. The album is currently unavailable.
"Out of the Shadows" - 2000, currently unavailable
"Transitions" was released in 2000 and was a continuation of Mission Man making the transition from simply being an
Emcee to being a musician and producer. It's currently unavailable
"Delve Deeper" was released in 1999, and was the beginning of Mission Man teaching himself production. It was a
double disc with a total of 33 songs. It was primarily a learning exercise and is discontinued.
"Intro To My Mind" - January 11, 1997 (8 days before Mission Man turned 18). "Intro To My Mind" was Mission Man's first album, and has 2 songs which are
still very popular among his fans today, "Weightliftin' Jam" and "Playin' a Little Basketball." Mission Man wrote
14 songs in 3 and a half weeks, and recorded the entire album in 3 and a half hours when he was just 17 years old.
One of the songs, called "Chillin" was not good enough to make the album and was never even recorded. At this point, Mission Man was solely
an emcee and lyricist. Many argue that the album is still his best. It has been rereleased as "Reintroduction" with
a few changes.
