An Odd Twist of "Indiependent" fate

In December of 2005, I was expecting to move to Florida for a while and just perform at open mics and hope I could sell enough CDs to live for a while. On Monday, Dec. 12th, I had a U-Haul reserved for noon to move everything out of my apartment. My lease was supposed to end on Dec. 22nd. I got to the U-Haul office at 12:05 and everyone was out to lunch, so I changed the reservation to Tuesday, Dec. 13th. I was carrying my dresser out to the U-Haul that morning, and my landlady saw me doing it. She said "are you moving?" I replied with, "I'm moving the big stuff out today and getting the rest on Friday." Her only response was "ok." After I came back in from taking the dresser out, my landlady said "we have you down until May." Apparently, there was some confusion. I had actually signed the lease until Dec. 22nd, but she had put me down until May in her manager's notebook. To cover her ass, and to keep me from moving everything out and figuring out a new life, we extended the lease until May of 2006. It's a good thing too. The next day, my car died. I flew to Florida instead of driving, which meant I cancelled my Boca Raton show as I had no way of getting there. I came back, got a new car (or rather, got plates on a car that failed emissions check in 2005, e-check was repealed Jan. 1st 2006), and went back to work at PJ's. I believe this was fate's way of saying that "Indiependent" had to be finished and it had to be done right, which is why I'm so determined to save the $2,500 to have it pressed through Discmakers.
